Professor Lau is a FANTASTIC Lecturer and a great professor overall! Her lectures always went by quickly and her exams are more than fair! For her course (Psychology M107) you have one 5 page paper, one midterm, and one final. It is not difficult to do well if you do the work that she asks you to do, which is reasonable. Just go to lecture, take DETAILED notes, and know your notes in and out for both exams. Although she does assign reading, they were more supplementary in the sense that if you didn't understand something about a particular study in lecture, reading them will help. She is also always available during her office hours to answer questions. There is absolutely no reason that you cannot get an A in her class (she also applies a curve that works for you not against you).

Winter 2021 - Amazing professor and class! Professor Lau is very helpful and knowledgeable. She makes everything clear. The TA Stephanie is also very helpful, and the review sessions she holds are extremely useful. There’s not much work for the course. The readings can be intensive, but you have no need to read them since the professor will talk about them in the lectures, and that’s all you need for the weekly quizzes. The midterm and final are not so difficult. They are free responses and you can choose your questions from a set of topics. Since the tests are open booked, they are fairly easy if you understand the materials and attend review sessions. There are also extra credits for the course, but I don’t know how they works. There’s also one group project, a presentation, which is also easy to do. Overall, I like the course, and I recommend it to anyone who is interested in Asian American psychology.
