Winter 2025 - My entire perspective on interacting with other people and empathy changed! I loved the discussion format because it allowed us to openly talked about our ideas both from the readings and everyday life. I truly have never felt so safe and empowered talking about my experiences in a class! This fiat lux really created a community of supportive people who are willing to listen to your ideas and support you. Loved Professor Levy Storms! She really cares for each student’s well-being and was so knowledgeable about the content.

Winter 2024 - I took the Fiat Lux on Racial Discrimination in Housing. The class only met three times and revolved around a single book, "The Color of Law." The professor is super knowledgeable, approachable, and very funny, so the class is entertaining. For grading, I submitted a one-page reflection and presented a short slideshow about the book; the grading was based on completion (it's also mandatory pass/fail). Like most Fiat Lux classes, if you're interested in the topic, the seminar will be amazing.
