Professor Goff is HANDS DOWN the best professor I've met at UCLA. She's super friendly, warm, approachable, and most importantly very knowledgeable about the material she covers. Her exams were straight forward, questions taken straight from the lecture/videos watched in class, and she is just an absolute treasure. The assignments for this class were also low stress, and meant to be reflective of our own lives rather than solely focused on the concepts from the material alone. I'm already enrolled to take her again for other classes she's teaching these next upcoming semesters, because I loved her that much. If you have the choice, ALWAYS go with Goff!! :)
TAKE! THAT'S ALL I HAVE TO SAY! You will not regret it, she is truly the best human being ever. She makes everything so applicable and understandable.
188B classes vary but the one I took this Winter was called "A Dynamic Perspective on Parenting" and it was excellent. We watched many documentaries, the lectures were entertaining, slides and audios of the lecture were posted on CCLE. The 4 written assignments were not difficult and I actually enjoyed writing them. The exams were multiple choice with one essay question (prompt was given in advance) and they were relatively easy as well. I love this class and I loved being taught by professor Goff! Take it!
Dr. Goff is one of the best professors on campus. Her lectures are very clear. This class taught me so much and I highly recommend this course. The material isn't heavy at all and it is a fun class to take regardless of your major. The exams are not hard and the four writing assignments are super fun to write and they are mostly about yourself. You will get an A with a bit of an effort. If you're looking for an easier psych course, this class is it! I would take this class again even if it was the hardest class on campus simply because Dr. Goff is amazing!
Professor Goff is one of my favorite professors at UCLA. She is so kind and is extremely engaging. She wants all of her students to succeed and will do whatever she needs to do to make that happen. Her exams are short answer, but they are directly from lecture and readings so there is nothing tricky about them. If you keep up with your work and pay attention in lecture, you will receive an A. Take all of her classes!!!! She is amazing!
Goff is a wonderful professor and person. She is very friendly and really cares for her students. She gives live lectures and also records them. I always looked forward to attending her lectures and she explains the material very clearly and thoroughly.
Her exams are relatively easy as long as she may attention during class and do the homework (which are just short written reports).
I had a lot of fun learning from this class and I highly recommend taking this upper div at the beginning of your college career since many of the other psych classes build upon the material taught in this class!
Professor Goff is a great professor who cares about her students and ensures that students have the experience possible. The material is interesting and the content is not too difficult however I do believe that in order to get an A you really do have to study the material in detail. Furthermore, I feel like people need to learn to separate their feelings for a professor from the difficulty of a class as I found the exams to be somewhat challenging.

As long as you go to class and reread the lectures the night before the midterm and final you'll be good. You kind of have to apply the info but not really. The exams were like 40-50 questions MC and not too tricky. She makes the lectures interesting by relating it to her own children.
Goff is a great professor and the material is super interesting. Her exams however, are no joke. In my opinion, her questions aim to trick you instead of actually testing on the material. I really enjoyed the class and the written assignments but the exams really affected my grade. No textbook required, no participation required, extra credit, weekly written assignments, 2 exams. Take her but make sure to study hard!!
Professor Goff is a very fair teacher. She is a clear lecturer and although her classes are bruincasted, I believe that it is very beneficial to attend lecture (also because it is mandatory) and keep up with the class. If you follow along and pay attention to her lectures, then you should be able to do well on her exams. She also drops your lowest midterm score, which is super cool and considerate! Overall, great class with super interesting info!!!
