Are you reading this because you see M102 offered by Professor Solorzano? Take my advice and enroll NOW. I feel like every UCLA student should take Professor Solorzano's class before they graduate. His lectures are AMAZING, and he also has incredible guest speakers come in and speak. Yes, the class is called Mexican Americans and Schools, and it's a MUST TAKE class if you're Chicana/Chicano or Latinx. But, it doesn't matter if you're not. What he teaches in M102 is so important and applicable to everyone. (I am not writing any details bc I really want you to take his class and find out for yourself.) His class really altered my perspective and had a huge impact on me. There are weekly readings and only two take-home assignments in this class: a midterm (40%) and a final (60%). I know it's a little weird to say this but I had a therapeutic experience working on my midterm exam and my final project. Did I also mention his TAs Magali and Lorena are angels? I really enjoyed this class, and I'm so thankful I got to take his class while I'm here. I will always remember M102 Mexican Americans and Schools with Professor Solorzano and his TAs.
