This course was extremely valuable to me. I learned so much about the world and the education system through this course. Professor Garcia helped every student and knew ALL of our names. He would make sure we understood the material and asked a lot of questions as well. You could easily tell that he actually enjoys teaching and is incredibly passionate about his work, and takes great pride in it. I will definitely take any other course he teaches. He is a treasure to the education department!!
class is long, participation matters since it's a small class, and requires two books (his and Yosso). you'll have a group presentation which isn't as bad as it sounds. honestly, I met some of the best people in this class! do the readings (Yosso's is the best IMO) you'll be given pop quizzes. grading I think was fair.
I have mixed feelings about the professor, he was cool and funny but I probably wouldn't take him again, I would rather talk to the TA, she was the BEST!
