Pro. Ravetch is an experienced instructor, and I do feel that my accounting knowledge is strengthened after taking his class, but here are the things I think he should reconsider:

1. His office hours are 7-9 am TR, with no TAs.
2. His tests are, well, beyond ridiculous.
3. His jokes are sometimes unnecessary and wasting time.

I agree with the latest statement about his office hours. He seems to care about students so much, but the fact doesn\355t prove. 7 o\355clock in the morning. COME ON. For a student who travels almost 1 hour and a half to get to school like me, I would have to wake up at 5 am to ask him a question. 5 am??? That\355s when I go to bed. I did not have a chance to ask him any accounting-related question outside class throughout the whole quarter.

To be honest, most of the accounting materials I learned were from my own. I am glad that I got over his class with a decent grade. His teaching style is above mediocre. He just gives hard exams. He does not pay much attention to bringing students to the standard where he tests them on. He tests you on the most OBSCURE materials, I mean, taking his tests, I feel like President Bush reading the intelligence report.

His jokes are not really funny most of the time; he is just funny looking when he is jumping up and down, moving his hands, and raising his voice. Really, he looks a little bit like a bad cloning version of John Kerry without botox, because all the botox seems to be put in his exams, lol

My advice? Well, there are ONLY 2 reasons to take Ravetch\355s class: first, you are willing to work hard for a decent grade; second, you\355re just an idiot who wants to damage your GPA. I was really excited to take his class until after the midterm. If you do take his class, you\355d better study on the most ambiguous stuffs, the stuffs like who is the groom in the next J Lo\355s wedding, or where is Bush\355s military record, lol

In conclusion, I must say that preparing for his midterm and final exams are the most painful things I have ever done since, well \326 watching William Hung singing \354She bangs\356. The only difference is laughing in tears watching \354she bangs, she bangs\356 and just \326 tears doing \354debit, credit, little T, giant T-account, PBO, ABO, woo woo\356 with Pro. Ravetch.
