Winter 2026 - This class was honestly a bit much especially considering that it is a GE. I don't know if the professor didn't like how his class was marketed on bruinwalk as an easy A, but essentially our grade was based on participation and attendance in discussion section, and 4 assignments written on paper that we had to complete in section under timed conditions. I wasn't expecting to be stressed out about this class but I was because he is very specific with what he wants for the written assignments and if you're too vague you will not do well. I got full score on everything which is 100% but was given an A instead of an A+ which isn't that big of a deal but it's definitely a bit odd. Lecture attendance isn't mandatory but he likes going around the class and asking us what we see when looking at photos of art. Not the worst class but I wouldn't take it again considering how much I was stressing over a GE that was supposed to be an easier A. I think I just got luckier with my TA.

Fall 2023 - Amazing professor! His tests were very difficult and we had to memorize the date, the name, the material, the location, and the significance of every artwork we talked about in class. For both the midterm and the final, I ended up with around 80 artworks that I had to memorize. For the final, we additionally had a 5-page essay about a specific topic we covered in class. Professor Schneller was an amazing professor who was very helpful during office hours. His lectures were also super interesting, and you can tell he really cares about what he teaches. I would 100% take another class with him again in the future.
