I found Professor Condren quite kind and sweet. I liked him and the material a lot when I took the time I took the class. He answered every question I e-mailed him and graded me fairly. He made provisions for my becoming gravely ill during that quarter and was incredibly nice. I can't remember whether it was one or two classes at this point, due to the sickness, but he was really fair. Didn't let me get away with too much. =)
Please do NOT take this class with him! This lectures made NO sense to me whatsoever. I was already struggling the first week of class! I made myself go every week but had no idea what he was talking about so I ended up not going for the last month of class mainly because I thought I could study a lot better on my own. Just stay away from this professor! He seems nice enough but I could not understand what he was saying! He just goes on and on about various things. I'm pretty sure I'm going to fail this class... horrible! He made the Canterbury Tales x1000000 harder!
Prof. Condren is an outstanding professor. His ideas are original and always entertaining. He is a fair grader, although he is not always clear on what he expects from his students on exams and papers. Prof. Condren took a potentially excruciating topic, like The Canterbury Tales, and really made the material relevant and amusing. I looked forward to his lectures and the suplementary reading he suggested was VERY helpful.
