I really enjoyed this class! the workload was manageable, and even though all of the topics were new to me Professor Woo made everything pretty easy to understand. I also really liked how the class was formatted. Lectures were held in person but were also all posted ahead of time on BruinLearn, so if I wanted to get ahead or I had to miss a class it was not an issue. Discussions are not mandatory and you are allowed to go to any! The best part is that there are no midterms or finals - your entire grade comes from 5 quizzes (10% each) and a long final practice set (50%). I would take this class with Professor Woo if you have the chance!

Professor Woo is great! The class consists of three quizzes and one project, each worth 25% of your grade. This sounds tough, but everything is manageable if you listen to her videos and understand the example problems. Professor Woo is an extremely clear and helpful professor. She also has some great insight on getting started with a career and life after classes.

I adore Prof. Woo. I have told everyone I know that needs to take this course to wait to take it with Woo because she makes learning about accounting so fun somehow. She is super clear and concise and truly cares about what she's teaching. Cannot wait to take another course with her in the future

This class is very easy—but you *cannot* do poorly on anything. There are two midterms, a final, and then a practice set (final project). All of these are easy if you study properly and spend enough time, but if you do poorly on any one of them, your grade will suffer immensely. Professor Woo is a really good instructor, likely because she isn't a researcher but instead a trained industry professional. Just don't allow yourself to sink your grade because of a small mistake.

I really enjoyed this class with Woo. I think she is great at lecturing and tries to get the class involved as she lectures which I found helpful as well. There were 2 midterms, a non-cumulative final exam (during week 10), and a practice set. Although I do not think that any of the exams were meant to be overly difficult, I did study a lot for each exam and it can be very time-consuming going over the homework problems since they tend to be quite long. However, this was the way I found was best to study for exams since she did not provide any other practice material. Another thing with this class is that you pretty much have to do well on all of the exams and the practice set because they are all similarly weighted into your final grade. There is no curve or extra credit so you do have to do well on everything to get a good grade. Despite this part of the course being a bit frustrating, I enjoyed taking this course with Woo and would recommend it!

I'll just say I had to emergency drop this class week 10 because I wasn't going to pass and over 50% were going to get A's. This was also my second time taking it, I took it with Gardner and ended up with a C- so this was my second time learning everything and I still couldn't figure out how to do it. I honestly don't know where all these bruinwalk reviews are coming from where they are like you can pass this in you sleep but that is the farthest thing from the truth. You have to do the homework which is soooooo many damn problems if you want to do well. 25% midterm1, 25% midterm2, 35% final, 15% practice set. Woo is really good at grading the midterms fast, I think they were graded by that night. Make sure you start that practice set like a week in advance because your trial balance will not balance first try I promise. This class is obviously doable if over 50% get A's but not for me I guess.

The grade for this course consists of 25% for both midterms, one given week 3 and the next given week 5, a final worth 30% given week 10, and a final project due the Friday of week 10 that is worth 20%. On the exams, each point is equal to 1% so to receive 90% and above you can only miss two points on the midterms and three points on the final. Although doable, this makes it so you must get a good grade on every exam in order to get an A in the class. The final project for the course wasn't difficult, but I would recommend doing it right when the assignment is posted (I believe she posted it during week 6) since it takes a decent amount of time, and working on it during week 10 isn't ideal. Overall, despite how the exams and project are weighted, the material for this course was easy and I felt that Woo taught it well, so I highly recommend taking it with her!

Absolutely don’t recommend. The entire grading scheme changed this quarter. Grading is now made up of 3 exams and one final assignment, which absolutely tanks your grade if you even slightly mess up on one of them. No curves or extra credit. Don’t trust the past reviews, they are from when the class was set up easier. I really liked the material, but the tests are killer.
