Rosethal wasn't too bad. I didn't go to lecture very often after Week 2, it wasn't particularly helpful. The homework was useful, though it sucks that you take the quizzes not knowing if you're doing the problems correctly. Midterms were rehashing the homework, final was rehashing the midterms: not rocket science but studying is necessary.
I personally studied for a couple of days before each midterm and maybe three days before the final and did just fine. Good luck.
I would not recommend this professor. He is very friendly and knows his subject but does not teach well at all. I got an A- in the class and I still would advise against taking it if possible. The structure of his Econ 11 class is very backward. You do homework each week and are quizzed on it in section and then after the quiz, you learn how to do the problems. This is completely ineffective. It would be much more learning friendly if you learn the material, practice it in the homework, and then test your knowledge in the quiz. Instead, you end up teaching yourself a lot of the material and feeling as though you are not really sure what you are doing much of the time. The lectures are not good. The TAs pretty much teach the class.
Take McDevitt. Lectures are horrible, and I think I'm leaving the quarter with less information than what I came in with. Study hard for the final, cause I came in with a 95% and I'm hoping to leave with a B in the class. If your a Bus-econ major like me, I suggest studying cause you need a 3.5 in Econ 11 and 101. And don't bother asking a question in class, cause he won't answer it.
this professor is terrible!! It is absolutely pointless attending lectures, you will only learn by teaching yourself and by attending the T.A. sections. He misleads the students on preperation for the midterm. I would not recomend anyone on taking this professor. A good way to harm your GPA.
