Professor Sumner is the best and this class was amazing. Exams were very straight forward, no trick questions, super fair. I studied by putting all my notes in ChatGPT and asking it to generate applied MCQs and got As on all 3 exams. Attendance is not mandatory, lectures are recorded, and besides exams there were 3 simple research reflection papers due. These were completion based (I think) and very simple. While the class felt... "easy"... I also learned SOOOOOOO much and retained the most info from this class compared to all my other ones. If you can take a Sumner class, do it.

I absolutely loved this class. Professor Sumner was a fantastic teacher and gave us engaging readings; not the classic boring textbooks you might expect. She's a fair grader and you can tell she cares about her students and wants us to learn, not to struggle. I HIGHLY suggest taking this class or any class with Professor Sumner.
