Professor Martinez is very knowledgable and passionate about educational research. He is a kind professor and helps his students. However, this class relies heavily on weekly group classwork. If you don't have group mates who pull their weight, it can be very difficult to succeed. If you communicate this to him or your TA they are very helpful.

This class took away 4 hours of my Friday (10am to 2pm, PAST LUNCH???), they dropped 2 participation scores though thank goodness. I was fully starving in discussion while my TA would ask me to model my emotions of the day with squirrel pictures. Prof wears hair in a ponytail which is cool I suppose. I am fearful of my TA not grading my final...

Syllabus goes as follows:
Attendance and Participation (15%)
Assignments (35%) which were usually due Tuesday at 8am?? and assigned the previous Friday???
Quizzes (25%) we were all misled on what would be on it kind of (he told us something would be on it and it wasn't, so I wouldn't trust this man)
Final Exam (25%) Similar to assignments, group and take home, so this one slayed in my opinion

His syllabus is well organized but his BruinLearn organization is lowkey mid. Lecture slides a lil hard to follow, esp because they weren't labeled based on topic on BruinLearn. 94+ for an A :(

I would not take this class again. An A is achievable though (for u lil pre meds). Thank you.
