History 8A was a very well taught class, Terraciano is extremely passionate about the subject and definitely expresses that passion through lecture. TA's play a big part in your grade.
SELLING TEXTBOOKS required for the course (Mesoamerican Voices, Childrens of Gods Fire, Letters and People of the Spanish Indies, Red Course Reader, Blue Course Reader). Books have never been written in and are in very good condition. Contact me at ************* for price.

This man is so sweet, understanding, and the most accomodating ever. We only had 4 essays total, 1 was considered a midterm, the other one was a final an dthe other two were just in between. prompts were not difficult especially if you attend lecture. The readings are pretty easy to understand, I would love to take another class with this professor I highly recommend
HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this class along with Professor Terraciano. Funny and engaging teacher and will often provide extensions on papers. Lectures are in person but are also recorded and uploaded quickly. The class material is super interesting and gives you a new perspective on early Latin American Natives history (The truth about Columbus and the following colonizers for example). The class consists purely of about four essays I believe and the prompts are released a week to two weeks before they are due. I got an A on each paper! A quick tip that helped me: there are three textbooks, but what made life super easy for me was just reading specifically for my prompt instead of reading the entire textbook material.
Prof. Terraciano is amazing!! His lectures are really engaging and it's clear that he knows a lot about what he's teaching + he's really passionate about his subject! He's very accommodating and my TA Chase was super helpful as well.
I'm selling the textbook (A New History of Colonial Latin America) and reader (Red Reader/Selected Writings from Iberia & Latin America) for this class. Contact me at **********.
Professor Terraciano is the best professor I had. He is super kind, understanding, and really cares about his students. He is easy to communicate with and is passionate about what he teaches. His class consists of so much reading and only four essays which is doable. He was also a lifesaver in the class and would hand out extensions and an easy final during the TA strikes. I definitely recommend him!
TL/DR: There's a reason why this professor gets such good reviews. The class is simply designed, the material is very interesting to learn (albeit some of it is incredibly depressing), and Terraciano is a great professor who actively cares for his students. This class, although affected by strikes in Fall 22, still managed to be enlightening.

I never went to a single lecture and only read select excerpts from 1/4 books when I had to write an essay, and still ended with an A. This class is chill. It's just based off of 4 essays, so as long as your paper is decent and meets the requirements, you'll be fine.
