Quarter: Spring 2021

Correa was the best professor in 111B and starting with her module made all the other modules feel terrible. She had 5 lectures and we had a quiz on lecture content for two weeks worth 20 points each and the midterm was worth 60 points. All of her exams were super fair/easy and open note. She was also really nice and listened to our recommendations if we had any and was super considerate of how we were doing during the pandemic. The only downside was the discussion paper quizzes during her module were HARD to the point where I couldn't even use the paper to deduce the right answer.

I liked Dr. Correa the best out of the three professors. She presented her material well and in a simple manner, and made connections for us that would help us remember. The papers and critiques/quizzes were still in this course like 111A. They also put more points on the quizzes than previous in person quarters as this was the beginning of the return to in person tests. So this might not be the same in the future. But overall a great module and professor!

Dr. Correa was the most well-prepared/competent of the three professors that taught 111B my quarter. Her slides were clear and she didn't just read off of them, which meant it was worth attending lecture. Everything was also posted on time, which really helped.

Dr. Correa is by far one of the BEST professors in the Phy Sci department. She teaches the first module of 111B (Neuroendocrinology) and sets an extremely high standard for the rest of the professors. Her lectures are clear, concise, and interesting to watch. She also gave us plenty of quizzes with midterm-style questions to prepare us for her exam, and is a very reasonable grader. I wish she taught the entire course!

Haven't finished 111B yet, but I wanted to review Professor Correa because her module and teaching style have been my favorite of the ones covered so far in the mandatory physci upperdivision series.

Due to the pandemic, the grading scheme of the course was redone -- midterms were open note, there were open note + free timed quizzes after every lecture, and critiques were removed. Midterms were weighed much less heavily than what they would've been during a normal quarter. All of this was adjusted within 2 weeks, which was impressive. She made the course a lot easier for us, and I appreciate that accommodations were made :')

She posted lectures 24 hours in advance to class time, and used class time as office hours for Q&As (super convenient, since this guaranteed that none of us would have a time conflict). Endocrinology is confusing, but her slides were so clear and concise. The topic was really pathway heavy, and all of her chosen images were just *chefs kiss*. So clear. She's also very responsive via email, which is always appreciated.

Online classes are kind of strange, and I know that professors have struggled to change grading schemes / adapt to Zoom / whatever else, but Professor Correa did a wonderful job :-) Would highly recommend !
