Going to quote below post cause it's so accurate:

"Prof Sproul is THE BEST! His lectures are so funny. He makes the material very interesting, and class was always something to look forward to. He is very good at explaining things.

Even better, there is no homework, and textbook/discussion is not necessary! Grade is based entirely on tests, which come directly from his lectures. So just go to class (or watch podcasts), memorize his graphs, understand the material (which is largely common sense) and you will get an A."

well, i guess i'm the only person here that wasn't crazy about him... i think that's mostly because i'm just not into econ. i didn't do well in this class, and i'm not an idiot (3.7 GPA). he was very good at explaining and is very open to answering questions, but i think the fact that he didn't make the subject very interesting (coupled with his monotone voice) bored me and gave me little incentive to work hard in this class. so in my opinion, this is not an easy A. you do have to review and take notes, etc. and even though i didn't do well, i'm sure others can do much better because he actually is quite thorough and accessible.

You want to/are going to take Econ 1?

Listen up!

Got an A. Didn't buy the book. Didn't go to lecture.

What did i do?
I bruincasted his lectures and took comprehensive notes of each example he did in class. every single one.
Studied those same notes before each quiz. There were no surprises.

Great class just understand what he does, everything he does, and your fine.

Great professor. If you are having trouble go to his office hours and he will help you but overall if you can understand the in class examples you will do fine.

I thought it was an easy class. I got A's on all the quizzes and A on the final. I ended up with a 96% in the class, and professor Sproul gave me a B+. I guess the curve was that high. He's a pretty good professor, clear & concise. All his lectures are podcasted and all the quizzes and the final are based on lecture, so there's no need to buy the book. It's just that his grading scale is a bit harsh.

I didn't care too much for Professor Sproul. The good thing is that he does a million different examples for the same thing so it is easier to sink in, but lectures seem a little different then the quizzes (which are essentially midterms) and the final. If you know the concepts of things and the examples he does in class you'll do fine. His classes are all podcasted which is good but he's very monotone so his podcasts are more boring than lecture. Not too bad for Econ 1 though.

Honestly, it's an easy class compared to the other econ classes out there. Memorize important graphs he lists as quiz topics because they're usually the short answer portion of the quizzes/final. STUDY HARD FOR ALL THE QUIZZES, EVEN THE FIRST ONE! I missed an A- on the three quizzes by a single pt, and got a 94% on my final, and ended up with an A-.
