There is no work. You read and discuss a paper every week in class. But most of the time what really happens is the prof will try to get to know everyone and also give advice on the important things that many only learn through years of college. I actually really appreciated that. This guy is also extremely experienced in his field and more than qualified to answer any questions or guide you if you are truly interested in the topic. He is empathetic and willing to help. Take this fiat lux if you want to be exposed to something new (the class material is actually interesting) and talk with this chill dude.

Class was excellent and was taught by both Zimmers who are very approachable and so knowledgeable. Office Hours are very helpful--go to them. :) Read research articles and critiqued them; it got us to think critically and got us to understand how to pick apart experimental design and really evaluate it. When writing critiques, going to Robert Gammariello's (our only TA for the class) office hours is super helpful. It was a really eye-opening and interesting class.

Course Reader with all the research articles was $40.
Course Reader that included the class note/diagrams for the second half of the course was $14.

I am selling both. The price is negotiable. Email me at ecogirl007@yahoo.com Thanks!

I took eeb 153 with this prof. Not listed on the eval so disregard mcdb. AWFUL CLASS. Maybe him & his wife USED to be easy/nice but now they are both RIDICULOUS. The whole class basically failed the midterm because it was all essay and they didn't even tell us how they would grade; pretty much everyone got C's and below written in their blue books. Their lectures are really bad too; always off topic; and all over the place. It's up to students to make the connection about how their slides are even relevant to what we are studying. The final was the worst. They didn't even tell us the essay questions and we were asked to write full length essays on command in addition to fill in the blank and t/f questions. We were given no study guide, no old exams and not even any hints as to what would be on the exam. Cheryl Ann said only 1 question would be from Dick's section (1/2 of quarter). WRONG there were a good chunk of questions on the final from his section. Overall, this class was ridic! Way harder than eeb 100 and other eeb classes. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. NOT an easy A or B for that matter

EEB 153!DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! HIm and His wife are ridiculous and felt like I was taking a class in the ancient times. They don't post lecture slide, notes or anything for that matter. No study solutions. His exams 1 midterm and final both 200 points, each 50% short answer essay and 50 multiple choice. The multiple choice isn't bad if you study but on the essays he took off points even just for grammar. It's like he doesn't want to see his students succeed. Also, the discussion sections are annoying as well, you have to read a science paper every week and do a critique on it and always have to participate and say something or you get points taken off. Anyway, I feel like this class was a waste of my time, It seems like they're doing all they can to take points away from you and not the other way around. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!! or any class with these people!
