Professor Chichester is one of the most caring and invested teachers I have ever had. Her syllabus is specific and clear on deadlines and format expectations. Her door is always welcome at office hours. She also gives feedback on each first draft helping you achieve a high grade on the final draft. There are many assignments to improve your grade; my year we had two, five page papers, a letter, a 1-page assignment, and journal entries. This class was challenging, but overall it truly improved my writing and made me excited for my next 4 years at UCLA!
Professor Chichester is one of the best professors at UCLA. She really cares about her students and provides useful suggestions in every paper feedback. I initially did not perform well in Paper 1, but she encouraged me a lot and finally, I went well in Paper 2, letter and one-pager. Easy A class. Go to her office hour frequently and learn what she wants for your paper, and you will be fine. Best experience, and great thanks to her.
Really enjoyed taking EC3 with Prof Chichester! The class focuses on texts relating to the environment, and there are 4 papers in total. You get a comment by the professor on 3 of them, and as long as you do what the professor tells you to change, you'll get a decent grade. She is very clear on what she expects on each of the paper, so it was not too difficult writing the papers.
Chichester is overall a pretty good teacher. She can be pretty weird sometimes, but she's super nice and very clear. The class isn't hard at all as long as you can write decently; there are two big papers and a couple of one page assignments. As someone who hates taking English, it really wasn't that bad.
Haven't taken EC3 with Prof. Chichester but I have her course reader in completely new condition. I bought her course reader last year but end up dropping her course for another major requirement, and now I've enrolled in an EC3 with another Prof. So I'm selling the course reader, which I haven't used one single time, at 70% of the price. If interested, please text me at ********** or e-mail me at *************
Btw, I had one class with Prof. Chichester and she was really approachable regarding the materials, and she is a really elegant lady who I would recommend to take the class with. I chose another Prof. only because her spots were taken really quickly and my first pass was pretty late.
Prof. Chichester is great! Though you may feel disappointed after receiving the feedback of your first paper, you would probably get a nice final grade! Selling course reader and the required Wadsworth Handbook for $35 (combined)! PM **********
Professor Chichester is really sweet and caring. The workload is moderate for engcomp 3. But Professor Chichester does expect a lot from students. She is a tough grader when grading papers but really lenient in terms of final grades. This class includes 2 papers, a one pager, a letter and many journals and assignments. You should try to go to her office hours to get as much as feedback as possible. But her offices hours are extremely crowded and you can wait up to several hours. I highly recommend taking her class. Her class mainly focuses on environmental protection and nature.
