Geography 110 is a great class to take. Clark is a great lecturer and focuses ALOT on statistics and graphs (make sure you know them because they will show up on the test). On the final he asked for 3 graphs that were NEVER represented to us and I will assume we had to "make sense" how the graphs would look. For the midterm most people got away without doing the readings but on the final SURPRISE SURPRISE!!! 3 out of 7 or 8 questions were based solely on the readings. The readings aren't that bad so you should do them and go to class!!!
Professor Clark is so organized. His tests come almost exclusively from the lectures. He might throw in a question from the readings, but even if you have no idea how to answer it, you can still get an A on the midterm and final. Watch the paper. Even if you go talk to him and he says it's a decent paper, he may grade you lower. I got an A on the midterm and final but a C+ on the paper which gave me a B+ in the class. He's a nice guy, take his class.
I liked Professor Clark's class. The subject matter was a bit boring, but his lecture really weren't total snoozers. He gave a lot of very useful information in the class and raised very interesting questions. I also agree he curved the midterm but graded the paper pretty tough.
If you want a straight forward class that requires little more than attending lectures and putting in a few hours of studying before the midterm and final take this class. Yes, he's a little bit boring at times, but that makes it all the more simple. However, I agree with everybody before who said that the paper was graded a lot harder than anyone expected. A lot of people got A's on the midterm and final and C's on the papers. Be careful with the paper and you should be fine.
The class is VERY boring unless you like geography. Clark grades on a midterm, paper, and final. The 2 tests are very specific and some what difficult, but their is a huge curve. The midterm was 50 points, and the curve for that was 25 is a C- so its a huge curve thats the good thing. His paper make sure you do well on, he seems to be picky about the paper, so dont think that the paper is just a given "A," although it seems that way by the way he grades his test, you would also think he is leniant on the papers, HE IS NOT! The final is fair make sure you go over his study guide. Its really hard to get lower than a C- in his class.
