Never Never take this jerk! I learned nothing from his lecture because he did not even know what he was talking about. He chose a very hard textbook without a published solution manual and he felt good about it. But people gathered and copied each other and still got perfect grades on homework. Well, the average was only 30% for both midterms and final, so why the fk did this happen...His grading was ridiculous as well: people who ranked 26th out of 131 students got a B+; while the one ranked 80th still got a B-, WTF??

The biggest thing about Professor Wang is that many of his exam questions are recycled so if you have access to the old exam questions you are set. At the same time, I really wish he would stop doing this because it is enraging to be edged out of 'A' range on the class scale by the likes of the mouth breathing whale girl with the intelligence of a peanut who sits in the front row. Professor Wang's lectures are okay and enjoyable, as are his subtle (and super corny) jokes, but sometimes it feels like he goes very slowly for the first half of class then after the break he blazes through more than half of the lecture slides. I feel like he does an acceptable job for teaching such a difficult subject in EE, and if you do study hard at it you can still do well in the class (something like top 30% A's, next 50% B's he said). The textbook is decently clear although on occasion not as in depth as other EE textbook, but overall okay. My TA for the quarter was Tim Brockett and he was a pretty chill dude. His discussions were super organized and he'll definitely help you out on homework questions in OH, discussion, or in e-mails, so big thumbs up there. I have heard good things about Umar as well, so maybe both TAs are ballers, who knows.

Spring 2024 - If you are interested in electromagnetics/antennas at all, 162A with Wang is great to take. Homework is minimal and exams are very similar to the homework/practice exams he provides, so the overall workload is essentially nonexistent if you keep up with the short homework/lectures. His lectures are not bad in my opinion, as he goes through derivations and such for understanding antenna fundamentals. The slides themselves are weak but his explanations in class give a lot of intuition. At the end of the quarter, you do a short project simulating a loop antenna in ADS. Take Wang's class if you're interested in the material and want a decently light class.

Fall 2022 - DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. Ethan is a terrible lecturer, he doesn't care about his students and he destroys my interest in every topic he touched. I don't think he spent even a minute preparing for the lecture since he often gets confused while reading and explaining slides. You just get lost and desperate in this course. The professor is not there to help you but confuses you even more. He doesn't have TA, doesn't use piazza, and cannot resolve students' questions properly. But He does use the worst microwave textbook you can find. What's worse, he didn't grade a thing during the quarter, making sure you have absolutely no idea about how you performed. No assignment solutions were posted until one day before the midterm, and the posted solutions seemed like a selection of students' results. If you take this course in fall, you won't get your grade on new year's eve. WORST COURSE AND PROFESSOR I've ever had at UCLA. Don't understand how can ECE hire such irresponsible people as a professor.
