I am extremely pleased to have chosen Strathmore Towers as my home for the past year and a half. It is about a ten to fifteen-minute walk to the campus and a ten-minute walk to the Ronald Reagan hospital if you work or volunteer there. You get one parking space for free. Utilities, gas, and wifi are at a decent price per month. I think the building was built in the 60s but it has been very well-kept by the manager (Danny) and the people who clean and maintain the building every weekend. As others have mentioned, Danny truly is a guardian angel and the backbone of this building. He really goes out of his way to help you when you need him and to keep the building in great shape. He is extremely organized and follows through. He even tries to get to know you and introduces you to your neighbors--all in an effort to build a friendly community in the building. I highly recommend living here.

My roommates and I lived here for 2 years, from 2017-2019. Hands down, the best place to live, considering the proximity to campus, the cleanliness of the place, and the highly responsive manager Danny. Everything is well-kept: my roommate always saw people cleaning there; the pool is always clean and a nice area to hangout/chat; and there's a bunch of plants that adds to the aesthetic. The radio music from the lobby puts a smile to my day when I leave for class and when I come back. It does get noisy at night, considering that my apartment was across the street from the frat houses, but Danny warned me of this before I moved in. Overall, I believe Danny was the main reason why I enjoyed living at the Strathmore Towers so much. Like another have said, he was very welcoming and would always introduce me to other tenants. He addresses any issues I have right away and has a high concern for the apartment's security. (You'll find that every door that you need to pass through is locked. I also saw him installing a more secure front door.) Definitely would live here again if I were still attending UCLA.

This apartment is a great place to live in the Westwood area and a perfect choice for students. I stayed here for 1 year while my roommates were here for 2, and we've all had a great experience at Strathmore Towers. The building is very well maintained and has a lot of plants and landscaping that makes it very aesthetically pleasing. Above all, the manager here, Danny, is amazing. He's always friendly and responsive to his tenants, making sure our living experience is a good one. He truly tries to build a community with his residents and will gladly take time to ask you about your day and introduce you to your neighbors. If there's any maintenance issue, you can call or text him and he'll come straight away to fix things himself or call someone else to do so. I will truly miss living here and having Danny as my manager.

We lived in a studio apartment from 2017 to 2019. The location is great, walking distance to UCLA and Westwood Village. The building is kept in great condition. The pool area is really good for hanging out and is kept very clean. The apartment was in perfect condition when we moved in, and for any small issue we could always ask Danny (the manager) and he would get it fixed right away. The manager is probably the greatest asset of this building: he is extremely welcoming to new people and tries to introduce everyone to each other. He really does everything to help you and to make you feel at home.

The building is absolutely gorgeous, very well kept and always welcomed by pleasant music and beautiful flowers! The location in unbeatable, 15 min walking to campus and far enough away from the parties. Danny, the manager, is amazing! He always makes sure that we are comfortable, safe, and happy. Every year, he works to build a community in the building so that it feels like we are living with friends and family. Whenever there is something wrong, Danny goes above and beyond to get things done. I will truly miss the building and Danny!

Studios here are suitable for a single or couple. They have a high-value cost-performance ratio. The manager here is very nice. Location is wonderful because it is only 10 minutes walk to UCLA. It also includes free parking. The only thing might disturb you is that this building is 60-years old and the elevator is very old too. In brief, if you are looking for an apartment close to UCLA, Strathmore Tower is one of your choices.

I lived in this building for almost four years: from 2015 to 2019. This place is awesome. The location is really great, especially if you live/work on campus . The rent is more than reasonable. All common-use areas (pool etc.) are kept clean and in perfect condition. The manager, Danny, always goes extra mile to make sure that all the residents are satisfied.

For the years I lived there, this place became home for me. I have recently moved to Australia, and I miss it every day.

I am more than happy to recommend this place to anyone who is looking for an apartment in Westwood (or in Los Angeles in general).

The apartments do have some maintenance issues from the previous owners but the new mnagement is constantly making large scale changes to improve the apartments.
The landlord Danny is super nice and introduces us to other residents. He is good about returning calls and is very generous (eg allowing extra parking for family during graduation). I like that he tries to work with the residents and is understanding that we’re students. He even lets roommates pay rent separately or takes checks from parents which is super convenient in the college environment. Finally, moveout was very stress free. It was easy to clean and Danny was very fair with the security deposit (we got the whole thing back minus some unpaid rent)
My one complaint that management could improve is that communication with the landlord is only done via paper/letters or a phone call. I would suggest having an email for residents to request maintenance/report issues.

First of all, the landlord is very friendly and a bit quirky. He really cares to ensure that apartment conditions is fine, and responds very quickly to any issues for necessary replacements. He tries his best to talk to and know each resident, because he really wants the apartment to be like a community.

Upkeep in the public areas of the apartment complex is very good. Hallways and pool are always clean. The complex itself is quiet, but it is near frats. Of course, it's really close to campus too.

We were lucky to live in a very spacious 1 bedroom that was recently renovated with new kitchen equipment. Our rent was shared by 4 people (all names on lease), so rent was actually ~$560 each + gas + electricity + internet.

It's an old building still, so the elevators and water pipes really need to be replaced. Elevator breaks down few times a month, and the pipes drip a lot in the garage. Sometimes the water is yellow, so we have to run the tap for a while.
