Fall 2019 - Overall, I enjoyed my experience with this instructor! She was super helpful and approachable; I would definitely recommend going to office hours to get feedback on your essays. She provides very helpful constructive criticism. This class has a manageable workload with 1 reading response per week and three major essays in place of in-class exams. We went through a decent amount of short books and poem analysis. In my experience, she's a slightly more difficult grader than what I'm used to but all her feedback is thoughtful and genuine. The class may be a little dry at times, but participation matters, so make sure to speak up during discussion. I took this class to satisfy my Writing II requirement as a STEM major. All in all a do-able class to knock out your Writing II and improve your literary skills.
