Hmm.. the material isn't bad, but it's not easy to get a good grade cuz the questions are tricky. The class avg is a C to C-, no curve. A lot of students don't do as well as they think they did cuz the questions are rather tricky. I never went to lecture, just did an all nighter the day before the midterm and another one the day before finals: got a B. O, get ready for tons of emails!

Bresnock is an okay Professor. This class is by no means easy, but it is not impossible. Bresnock gives very organized lectures and the textbooks are very easy to follow. She however doen't care very much about individual students. She made it very clear to me that the class is too large for her to concern herself with any one student.

She knows her stuff. Sometimes she talks too much of her environmental studies. Her details are may be too much and often extends the lecture for too long.

Very easy class, very well organized lectures and easy to follow notes. I never had to bother buying the book... the study guide was enough.

If there's any cons, she's boring maybe because the subject matter is boring, and the class was hard to get up for at 8am.

I took Econ 1 with Bresnock and the class was so easy! She gives you everything you need to ace her tests. She also gave out a 25 point extra credit survey right before the final so I came into the final with over 100%. She is a great prof. to take for GE credit. She explains everything really well and is really organized. Her notes are great. The only thing I have to say bad about her is that she writes everybody emails every other day that are pages long explaining pointless stuff. Take her if you get a chance.

Econ 1 is so easy although it is at 7:30 in the morning. This class has a lot of work-- 4 long HW, 1 computer project (nothing to do with programming tho), 4 quizzes, a midterm, a final. However, you can check your answers with ur friends before turing in the HW and project. In my points of view, the project and HWs are much harder than the midterm and finals.

I love this class so much. For those who are engineering major, I don't know about Chem E, civil E, or Mech E, if you are EE, CE, or CS students, you will love this GE class so much. Although you may be frustrated in your CS 32, CS 180, EE 102, EE 103..., you will enjoy scoring 100% in the midterm and finals. I swear. me and 2 of my friends took her classes in 3 different quarters, all scored above 98% in her midterm and finals. Compare to those programming, electrical systems and signals classes. This class is for you to build up your GPA.

Highly recommended GE classes.

prof bresnock's class is so annoying since it's at 730am. the thing i most learned from this class was not to take a morning class. i was trying way harder to stay awake than take notes. if you're a morning person, this class will be fine for you. if not, good luck.

Econ 1 is not an easy class and anything at 7:30am is not going to be fun. That being said, I can't say anything critical of Prof Bresnok. She is organized, comprehensive (reading the book is not necessary if you attend lectures and do all the problems) and fair. There is no curve, however, you have enough opportunities throughout the qtr to build up points (through homework and quizzes, which I highly recommend you put you all into as they are the easiest way to get points) that a curve is unnecessary. Don't go into the class expecting any breaks, but do know that Bresnock does a good job with a difficult subject. PS - She talks really fast which helps you stay awake that early in the morning.

Although the classes were way too early and she was extremely intimidating (especially in office hours), I'd have to say that Bresnock is an awesome professor. She makes you study and her lecture notes are great for studying. In fact, her lecture notes alone were a sole factor in my strong will to study. Tests were fair. Only bit of advice: STUDY, STUDY, STUDY! If you don't, don't expect too high of a grade. Oh yeah, and she doesn't grade on a curve, so it's all up to you.

everyone told me to take econ 2 before econ 1 and that was a big mistake. If I took bresnock first then econ 2, I would've kicked butt in econ 2. Bresnock's lectures are soooooooo important. If you don't go, you're screwed. I never read the text book. All I did was work her problems, go see the TA (which a lot of people dont do so you get a lot of one on one time), and DO THE STUDY GUIDE BOOK! She is suchhh a great teacher. I think econ 1 is harder than econ 2, but bresnock makes it so much easier to understand. ONCE AGAIN GO TO LECTURE AND DO THE STUDY GUIDE!!!! PRINT LECTURES IN ADVANCE!!!
